Life is meaningful, but what makes life meaningful? The things that make life meaningful are all the things that we love in life and the memories we make with them such as:
- our family
- our Friends
- our pets
- people who have made an impact on our lives
Life being meaningful revolves around the memories we have of these individuals and doing the things we love doing with them, but life is not just the rainbows that make it meaningful. A storm always comes before rainbows and rainbows are not produced without a storm. Therefore:
- our sufferings
- our trials
- our mistakes
- and our tribulations
also make life meaningful, not because they are negative, traumatizing, or hurtful, but because it is the things in life which scare us that make us braver, it is the things that break us that make us grow stronger, it is the constant recovery from the strains of life that makes life meaningful, because it shapes us to becomes the men and women of God that God has called us to become. It is by these good and dreadful things that life is meaningful – through the fellowship of others with the ones that we love, and by the trials of life that we go through to become stronger. Life is meaningful, but life is also ironic and full of humor. Life is also meme-ingful. What does that mean to me?
“Life is meme-ingful” is a phrase I like to say when I think of the humor and community that memes do by bringing a collective of people together. While not all memes are exactly appropriate for all individuals, memes still have a purpose, and memes can also be appropriately meme-ingful too. What “Life is Meme-ingful” to me may be different than it is to you, but in the end, memes still do one thing, they unify a community in humor, laughter, and a sense of comical joy. To me, “Life is meme-ingful” means that we can all gather around a comical image that portrays the ironic satirical perspective of the silly gremlin mind that is in all of us. Like the phrase “silly goose” there is a goofy gremlin in all of us, the person which is silly, comical, and desires to have a good laugh. Life is meaningful, but life is also meme-ingful, and through memes, absurd humor, funny content, and sitting around a table to talk about the funny trends being spread virally through the internet makes life meaningful and meme-ingful.
According to Dr. Lynn Zubernis (2024) who wrote an article on Pyschology Today, called “How Memes Help Us Cope,” mentioned that during Covid-19, memes had a positive impact on individual’s well being with memes related to Covid, and also mentioned that relatable funny memes about our stressors helps individuals to go through that stress a lot easier. This fact observed by researchers shows that memes do give life meme-ing and that is the motto of The Goofy Gremlin. The Goofy Gremlin is a chaotic meme brand which seeks to relate and help others find their inner gremlin so they too may also share “life’s meme-ingfulness” with others. Through The Goofy Gremlin blog content and merchandise, life’s meme-ingfullness will spread to others, like a chaotic viral meme trend.
Todays “Life is Meme-ingful” quote is a quote by the Corn Kid:
“I love Corn…It is the most beautiful thing, just look at it” (Recess Therapy, 2022)
Yes, Corn Kid, I love your optimism about corn and about life. There is nothing hilarious about the Corn Kid’s response, except that it has become an iconic trend in the meme community because it is cute, relatable, optimistic, and true in its own straightforward way.
“You don’t have to like corn to be the best…Just try it!” (Recess Therapy, 2022), the Corn Kid also says.
Be like the Corn Kid and love life like this kid loves corn, and find meaning in life, while also finding meme-ing in life with memes. Life is meaningful, but life is meme-ingful too. Through a simple share of a funny meme to your friend or creating a meme for the community is a way to lighten up someone’s day. By sharing your laugh with others, it gives meme-ing to other people’s lives.
Here is a video of Corn Kid being kindly interviewed by Recess Therapy. In this video you will see the iconic Corn Kid’s expression and love for corn!
