What is Jetpack?
Jetpack is a plugin that increases the functionality of your website by adding features to your website such as security monitoring features, performance features, writing features, discussion features, traffic features, reader features, and monetization features. There is a total of twenty-seven features in the free version of Jetpack. Today in my blogpost I will be talking about six modules that will be beneficial to The Goofy Gremlin, and why.
The Sharing Module: Jetpack Social
First, in the Sharing module of Jetpack is the Jetpack social which is a feature that allows a person to send content on their website straight to their social media accounts with one click. This would be beneficial in making my own blog posts easily shareable to my various social media accounts without having to share them individually with each social media account.
The Writing Module: Infinite Scroll and Jetpack Blocks
The second module mentioned in this blog post is the Writing Module on Jetpack. Within the writing module are two features that I like for my website which are the infinite scroll feature and the jetpack Blocks feature. The infinite scroll features allow posts on your blog to infinitely pop up when scrolling to the bottom without having to click through individual block post. This will be more effective when my blog has an abundance of more posts added to the website. This feature also increases easy functionality for users as it decreases the need to look for more post and just scroll down. The Jetpack blocks are just special blocks provided by Jetpack for more effective content creation.
Performance Module: Performance and Speed
The third module mentioned in this blog post is the performance module on Jetpack which has one feature I like for my website, and that is the performance and speed module. Turning on the performance and speed module increase speed and performance to my blog by storing my images and files loaded onto my website onto the Jetpack server – this increases the speed and performance on my website by lifting the load of the speed times required by my website to process images and files.
The Security Module: Firewall, Downtime Monitoring, and Hack Protection
The last module mentioned in this blog post is the security module on Jetpack which has several security features which are beneficial for my website. The first feature is the security feature which protects your website from malicious traffic. The second feature is for downtime monitoring, and it notifies the admin of the website when their site is down. The last feature is a feature to block hackers from trying to log into your website. Security features such as these are beneficial for any website.
By utilizing all the features mentioned in my blog post, the functionality of my website will be more pleasurable to visitors including myself as the website owner and creator. Without these, visitors may find my website harder to navigate and more difficult to engage with my post or interact with other individuals commenting in the social area, and with added security my website is safer from protruding threats with an extra layer of security. Thanks to the Jetpack Plugin, I have sufficient features to make The Goofy Gremlin blog and merch website safer, easier, effective, protected, discoverable, faster, and accessible.
